Sashimi among the Teriyaki Sea

It is true that my first experience of Japanese Cuisine came about last night :-( however what I received was far beyond my expectations. Under the constant nagging of my cousin Rakitha we decided to give 'Ikoi Tei' at the Dutch Hospital a go. Being the skeptical bunch we were our party of six ordered 'Chicken Teriyaki' (RS. 800)and the bold one being me ordered a 'Salmon Sashimi' (Rs. 1550). One of the best parts of the experience was how quickly they brought out the food and the ambiance was warm and welcoming.
We entered the premises at around 8.30 pm and the staff quickly put together two tables to accommodate us. After a round of tiger and carlesberg beer, the food arrived at our table. I must say that if you compare the quantity according to Sri Lankan appetites the Sashimi is going to leave you hungry. The Teriyaki on the other hand was reasonably portioned.
The Sashimi was exceptional, the salmon was fresh, the seasonings available were in perfect unison with the salmon. The wasabi was a little too spicy for my taste but the rest of the dish was pretty much, what you see is what you get.
There was all around praise for the Teriyaki and I did manage to get in a bite and I must say I agree. Well seasoned and the fresh salad added an extra edge of oomph to the dish.
Our total bill came to about Rs. 10,000/- and that I believe is reasonable for an authentic experience.
Word of caution if you want to feel full this is not the place unless you order two to three dishes per person!
