I literally dreamt about watching this movie ever since I laid eyes on its trailer. So last Sunday I decided to bother my husband, cousin and his girlfriend to go and watch this. Our choice of cinemas was the Arcade Deluxe. Went there early to get tickets for the 7.15 show.
I must say one of the best things about this movie was its optimisation for 3D. It starts with a swirling mechanical image which makes you feel like you too are turning inside this tunnel. I heard the horrible 48% review on rotten tomatoes and what not on this movie but all in all I cannot complain much.
Could it have been better? yes definitely but let me tell you what I liked about it.
I loved seeing Scoot and Jean meet for the first time. This was a good way for the fans to understand their start and why they fell in love.
The glimpse of Wolverine massacring about 20 soldiers and then running away in to the woods was hilarious.
The best part of it was seeing Jane release Phoenix and come back to her normal self along with Mystique deciding to stay back with the Professor.
We saw through three movies the professor and magneto fighting with each other and finally we will be able to see a different story line with their friendships developed.
Hardest part for me in this movie was seeing Havok literally turn to dust, mostly because Lucas Till is a sweet heart.
All in all I would rate this movie a strong 7/10. I was not a major fan of Apocalypse's acting and they seriously could have had more action scenarios.
PS: A great shout out to Quick Silver, a great save as usual and never panicked.
